The Isle of Man TT is not just about the racing. It is about the people, the atmosphere, the stories and the proper moments that happen around the island.
At The Black Dub, that means good bikes, good company and, this year, seriously good pies.
During the TT, we welcomed the Pie Eyed boys brothers Connor & Aaran McGrath and Mikey Wright to take over The Black Dub kitchen, cooking up a storm for our guests across the event.
And it is fair to say, the pies went down an absolute treat.
Pie Eyed at The Black Dub
The Black Dub has always been a special place for Uggly&Co during the Isle of Man TT.
It is raw, loud, full of character and right in the middle of proper road racing atmosphere. The bikes come through fast, the crowds are buzzing and the whole place feels connected to everything that makes the TT so special.
Bringing Pie Eyed into that setting made complete sense.
Their food has the same kind of feel as The Black Dub itself. Proper, honest, full of flavour and made by people who clearly care about what they are doing.
This was not just standard event food. This was a proper kitchen takeover.
Hand-Pressed Pies for TT Guests
Connor, Aaran and Mikey served up a delicious range of hand-pressed pies for The Black Dub guests, bringing together classic flavours and more adventurous fusion dishes.
There were proper favourites like Steak and Guinness, the kind of pie that feels made for a busy TT day. Rich, comforting and exactly what you want when you are spending the day watching bikes come through the roads.
Then there were the more unexpected flavours, including Satay Chicken and Spiced Moroccan Lamb. Both brought something different to the table, giving guests a chance to try pies with a bit more twist and personality.
That mix of classic and creative is what made the Pie Eyed takeover stand out.
Classic Pies and Fusion Flavours
One of the best things about Pie Eyed is the range.
A good pie needs to feel familiar, but it also needs to have character. The Pie Eyed menu did both.
The Steak and Guinness pie brought the classic, rich, savoury flavour people know and love. The Satay Chicken pieadded a bold fusion twist, packed with flavour and something completely different from a traditional pie. The Spiced Moroccan Lamb pie brought warmth, spice and a bit of adventure to the menu.
It gave guests proper choice and made the food feel like part of the experience, not just something on the side.
Feeding The Black Dub Crowd
The Black Dub guests absolutely loved the pies.
Across the event, the Pie Eyed team kept the food coming, serving hungry TT fans, guests and visitors who were spending the day soaking up the road racing atmosphere.
The reaction said everything.
People were coming back, talking about the flavours and getting properly stuck in. When food disappears that quickly and people are still talking about it afterwards, you know it has worked.
The Pie Eyed kitchen takeover brought another layer to The Black Dub experience.
ARCH Motorcycle Loved the Pies Too
The Pie Eyed boys did not just feed The Black Dub guests.
They also catered for ARCH Motorcycle during their visit, and the pies went down just as well with them.
Having ARCH Motorcycle at The Black Dub was already a special moment, with the team visiting during the Isle of Man TT. Being able to serve them proper hand-pressed pies from Pie Eyed made the day even better.
Good bikes, good people and good food. That is exactly what The Black Dub is about.
Why Food Matters at The Black Dub
At the Isle of Man TT, the best moments are not always the obvious ones.
Of course, the racing is the main event. But it is the time spent between sessions, the conversations, the people you meet and the food you share that make the whole experience feel complete.
That is why the Pie Eyed kitchen takeover worked so well.
The Black Dub is not a normal hospitality space. It has its own atmosphere and its own personality. Bringing in food that felt handmade, full of flavour and properly thought through matched the setting perfectly.
It made guests feel looked after without losing the relaxed, genuine feel that makes The Black Dub special.
A Proper TT Kitchen Takeover
The Pie Eyed Black Dub kitchen takeover was exactly what we hoped it would be.
Connor, Aaran and Mikey brought energy, flavour and a menu that gave people something to talk about. From classic hand-pressed pies to exciting fusion dishes, everything felt made for the moment.
The Isle of Man TT brings together people from all parts of motorcycle culture. Riders, teams, fans, brands and friends all end up sharing the same spaces. At The Black Dub, Pie Eyed helped make those moments even better.
We Would Love to Welcome Pie Eyed Back
After seeing the reaction from guests, riders and the ARCH Motorcycle team, we would love to welcome Pie Eyed back to The Black Dub.
The pies went down a storm, the team were great to have around and the whole takeover added something special to the TT experience.
A massive thank you to Connor, Aaran McGrath and Mikey Wright for coming down, getting stuck in and feeding everyone properly.
The Pie Eyed Black Dub kitchen takeover was a proper highlight from the TT.
Good food. Good people. Proper road racing atmosphere.
Exactly how it should be.
