Who Is Bradley Ray?

Brad began racing at an early age, initially competing in minibikes before moving into circuit racing. He progressed through the British 125 Championship and later spent three seasons racing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, finishing fourth overall in 2014. These early championships gave him the opportunity to race internationally and develop the skills needed to compete at the highest level.

After continuing his progression through Moto2, British Supersport and other national racing categories, Brad eventually made the move into the British Superbike Championship. It was here that the number 28 began establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents on the grid.

His speed was never in question. Brad quickly became known for his confident riding style and his ability to push a superbike to its limits, particularly when he was comfortable with the bike beneath him.

Becoming British Superbike Champion

The defining moment of Brad’s career came during the 2022 British Superbike season.

Riding for OMG Racing Yamaha, Brad delivered a remarkably consistent championship campaign. He secured nine race victories and 23 podium finishes on his way to winning the British Superbike Championship title. His combination of outright speed and consistency made him the rider to beat throughout the year.

Winning a BSB title is no small achievement. The championship visits some of the most demanding circuits in the country, including Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Donington Park, Knockhill and Cadwell Park. Riders must perform in changing weather, manage limited testing time and compete against a grid filled with experienced race winners.

Brad’s championship proved that he had developed into a complete rider, capable of managing pressure while still delivering the pace required to win races.

Taking on the WorldSBK Championship

Following his British Superbike title, Brad moved into the World Superbike Championship for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The move allowed him to race against some of the quickest superbike riders in the world while learning new circuits and adapting to a different style of competition. WorldSBK brought new challenges, but it also gave Brad valuable international experience that he could carry into the next stage of his career.

Competing at world level requires riders to quickly understand unfamiliar tracks, different tyres and new technical setups. Even when results do not tell the full story, experience gained in an international paddock can make a rider stronger when they return to familiar surroundings.

A Return to British Superbikes

Brad returned to the British Superbike Championship in 2025 and immediately showed that he had lost none of his speed.

During his comeback season, he secured 12 race victories and 22 podium finishes, collecting 502 championship points and finishing as the series runner up. It was an impressive return that placed him back at the centre of the BSB title fight.

For the 2026 season, the official British Superbike rider profile lists Brad with McAMS Yamaha, once again competing aboard Yamaha machinery and chasing another championship.

His return has added another major contender to an already competitive grid. Whether he is fighting for a race win, recovering from a difficult qualifying session or working his way through the field, Brad regularly provides some of the most exciting racing of the weekend.

What Makes Brad Ray So Popular?

Race results are only part of the reason Brad has developed such a strong following.

Away from the circuit, he has an approachable personality that connects naturally with supporters. He understands the importance of spending time with fans, appearing at events and representing the people and brands that support his racing.

On track, his style is aggressive without appearing uncontrolled. He can carry huge speed through a corner while keeping the bike settled, and he is rarely afraid to challenge for a position when an opportunity appears.

There is also something instantly recognisable about his racing identity. The number 28, bold helmet designs and bright pink details have all become closely associated with Brad and his place within British motorcycle racing.
