Jamie Coward Set for Exciting Machinery Switch at 2025 Isle of Man TT
Jamie Coward is gearing up for a major shift in the 2025 Isle of Man TT, as KTS Racing has officially confirmed a switch from Honda to BMW machinery in the Superbike and Superstock classes. Meanwhile, in the Supersport category, Coward will continue aboard a Triumph, but with an exciting twist—KTS Racing has been announced as the official factory-backed Triumph team, marking a significant milestone in their road racing journey.
A Factory Triumph Partnership & Continued Supersport Success
Coward, a consistent top-five contender at the TT, has proven himself as one of the most formidable independent team riders in recent years. For 2025, he will once again compete in the Supersport class aboard a Triumph Street Triple 765, the very machine that carried him to two fourth-place finishes in 2024. However, this time, Coward and KTS Racing will enjoy full factory support from Triumph, with backing from the Macadam Triumph Factory Racing Team.
KTS Racing team owner Kevin Watret expressed his excitement about the strengthened partnership, stating:
“We’re obviously delighted to be continuing our partnership with Jamie, as we’ve enjoyed some superb results over the last few years. We’re equally thrilled to now be the official Triumph team on the roads. Since the formation of KTS Racing in 2019, we have strived for an opportunity like this, and it’s great to see our efforts being rewarded.
Last year was our first with the Triumph triple, and Jamie more than showed its potential with a fourth-place finish in race two and another personal best lap. We feel there’s even more potential, and with factory support and the combined expertise of our teams, we’re optimistic for a great season ahead.”
With the added backing from Triumph, 2025 could be the year Coward takes that next step onto the Supersport TT podium.
BMW Power for the ‘Big Bike’ Classes
After over a decade of competition at the Isle of Man TT, Coward will make another major change—this time in the Superbike and Superstock categories—where he will trade his Honda for a BMW M1000 RR. This move comes after the BMW proved to be the dominant machine at the 2024 TT, securing victories in the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT races.
Speaking about the switch to BMW machinery, Coward admitted it was an easy decision based on the bike’s proven performance:
“As a team, we sat down to evaluate our options and agreed that BMW was the best way forward and the best package to be on at the TT.
When you look at the lap speeds, especially the speed trap figures, the BMW has that extra edge. It also suits taller riders better, and the team has secured an ex-Josh Brookes bike, so I’m looking forward to testing it.”
Coward’s decision to move to the M1000 RR aligns with the recent trend of top riders choosing BMW for its outright speed and race-winning potential. With KTS Racing’s expertise and his own experience on the Mountain Course, Coward could be in line for a career-best year at the TT.
What This Means for Jamie Coward in 2025
With the factory-backed Triumph in the Supersport class and a proven race-winning BMW in Superbike and Superstock, Jamie Coward is setting himself up for his most competitive TT campaign yet. His ability to consistently challenge for top positions, paired with the added support and machinery upgrades, means he could be a serious podium contender across multiple classes.
As the 2025 Isle of Man TT approaches, all eyes will be on Jamie Coward and KTS Racing to see if this bold move pays off. Could this be the year he claims his first TT podium or even a maiden victory? One thing is for sure—the team is leaving nothing to chance in their pursuit of success.
