Penultimate Round of BSB 2023!

We don’t know about you but this season has just flown by. The Roads season is well and truly over and the BSB season heads into its penultimate round this weekend. After a thrilling encounter at Oulton Park, that undulating rollercoaster of a circuit nestled deep in the heart of leafy Cheshire (he’s at it again!) served up the most explosive weekend of the season, as is becoming a tradition these days, as Tommy Bridewell and Glenn Irwin went head-to-head for team honours after the sad passing of Paul Bird, their team owner. UGGLY&Co pair Max Cook and Davey Todd were both in action in Cheshire as Davey returned to the track after he parted with Padgetts Honda after a lacklustre Roads campaign. Standing in for the injured Danny Buchan, Todd got his first taste of action aboard the Synetiq BMW M1000RR machine that he’ll run on the Roads in ’24 in the Milwaukee Tools colours. A brace of point-scoring finishes was a good return for the Saltburn man as he adjusted well to his new steed on a tricky circuit.

Cheshire Mouldings by FS-3 Racing Kawasaki’s Max Cook was back in action after an enforced lay-off at Cadwell Park last time out. Showing no ill effects from his tumble in Lincolnshire, Max showed again why he’s one of the hottest young prospects in the series as he got to grips with arguably the most technical circuit on the calendar with the points finishes and noticeably faster than his first visit back in early May. It’s been so good to see Max’s progress in ’23 and we’re excited to see what he can do in ’24 alongside new team-mate Jason O’Halloran!

With words said on TV and on social media, words misconstrued and fans on social media getting involved the championship finally came alive in 2023. Glenn took the double as did Tommy, despite there only being three races… Glenn took the points for two wins but Tommy crossed the line first twice, however the first of his ‘doubles’ was demoted to a fourth after a time penalty was issued for dangerous riding following Tommy’s sudden deceleration behind the
safety car into Lodge, much to the very obvious annoyance of the Devizes man. The bottom line is that there’s just half a point in it between Glenn and Tommy as we head to Donington Park for three more races in the battle for the Bennetts British Superbike crown, and we can’t wait!
